Our Minor Footballers recorded there second win in this years Championship with an excellent 2-5 to 1-5 away to Mt Sion last Saturday afternoon. Ferrybank were a bit slow to start, giving there opponents far to much space and take there scores, but Darryl Griffin scored a goal and that settled the team down. Shane Meagher got a second goal, and the team began to put some good Football passes together, with Darryl contributing four points as well, with Shane getting the other point. Ferrybank had to survive some late Mt Sion's attacks, which they did and came away with the two points. Next up for the Minors is a Home match on Sunday March 23rd against Portlaw at 11:30am.
UNDER 11 HURLING: Our Under 11 hurlers played their second game of the year in Carraiganore on Friday night against Sacred Heart. On a great evening for hurling, the lads got stuck in from the start, against there opponents who scored the opening goal of the game, but this sparked Ferrybank into action, replying with two quick goals to go in with a half time lead. With the second half, like the first half, with both teams giving it there all on the field, Ferrybank held on for the win. This was another tough workout for the team, with some good performances on display, espically with the league starting shortly. Training will contuine every Tuesday & Friday at 6pm sharp.
