Our Minor Footballers are back in Championship action this coming Saturday March 8th at 3pm Away to Mt Sion in their second game of the competition. With a good win under their belt in the opening match, the lads will be keen to make it two from two. Your support will be appreciated on the day.
RADIO QUIZ: This coming Thursday night March 6th at 8:30pm in Flynns Bar the annual WLR/ Waterford Gaa team will hold the Annual quiz in aid of the players fund. Teams of 3/4 cost €10 each, so why not come along and bring a team, test your knowledge, and enjoy the night.
UNDER 11 HURLING: Our under 11 hurlers had their first outing of 2013 last Friday night in Carraiganore where they played Roanmore. On a cold clear night for hurling, the lads were a bit slow to get going, but once they did, they matched there opponents score for score with some excellent hurling on display from both sides. It was a good workout for the team, which bodes well for the coming playing season ahead. Training contuines on Tuesday nights at 6pm sharp, and any newcomers are most welcome to attend. FITZGIBBON CUP: Congratulations to Cormac Heffernan and the W.I.T team that defeated C.I.T in the final of the Fitzgibbon cup last Saturday afternoon in Belfast. Cormac's dad John played for the W.R.T.C. team all the way back in 1982 when the R.T.C. were first admitted into the competition by the Gaa.
DEISE DRAW: The 2014 Deise draw will commence once again in April and will run until December. The draws usually take place on the last Fridays of each month in various Gaa locations. Tickets, once again cost €10 per month, with some excellent prizes on offer, ranging from €10,000 to €150. Also there will be extra draws during the summer months. 70% of the money goes directly back into the club funds for the day to day running of the club.
