U10 HURLING
Our Under 10 kids represented Ferrybank last Friday against St. Marys in Carriganore. This was the longest game (40 minutes) and biggest pitch that our U10 team have played on and it was tough on the lads. The recent spate of excellent form has had a tremendous effect on the lads, their confidence has soared and this is illustrated in their performances and they came out on top after a closely fought game. The teamwork, the passing and finishing was second to none. Well done lads – keep up the hurling homework. As always thanks to the parents, grandparents, friends and relatives for their vital support.
U11 HURLING
Our U11 team's busy schedule continued on Sunday week
last when Cuala GAA Club made the journey from Dublin to take on
Ferrybank in a challenge game. The two teams served up a cracking game
of hurling, with some great end to end action from start to finish, with
Ferrybank running out winners in the end. The kids went on to the Mandarin Palace for some much needed refreshments, and then onto Walsh Park to watch the Waterford v Dublin game. The players and mentors would
like to thank everyone at Cuala GAA Club for making the long journey
down; and we hoped they enjoyed their day out and we hope to return the
favour in the near future. We would also like to thank Mark Russell for refereeing the game, Tommy and Elaine Pang for the food at the Mandarin Palace and
not forgetting the three ladies of Sabrina O' Brien, Margaret Oates and
Amanda Tyler who made sure everyone had a fully belly after the match.
MINOR FOOTBALL
MINOR FOOTBALL
Our Minor Footballers are back in action next Sunday March 23rd with a home match against Portlaw at 11:30am. With two wins from two, the lads will be keen to maintain their unbeaten record. Please come along and support the team.
UNDER 8 GO GAMES
UNDER 8 GO GAMES
Our U8 Hurlers played De La Salle in the Go Games at half-time of the Waterford v Dublin League game in Walsh Park last Sunday week. It was a fierce battle on heavy ground, with some big hits throughout, but credit to our lads for shading a tight contest. What was most pleasing was how the lads took to playing in front of a big crowd so well done to all of them. Keep up the good work.
Team – Kyle, Adam, Paddy, Fionn, Conor, Michael, Caolain, Jay and Arron.
