Following an Eastern Board meeting which took place in Dunhill last Tuesday night, the draws were made for the 2014 Hurling & Football competitions.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Ferrybank have been drawn in Group B of the competitions along with Portlaw, De La Salle, Eirns Own, Tramore, St Saviours. The top 4 teams will qualify for the quarter finals, with the bottom teams in each group playing of in a relegation match. The opening games have not been fixed, but the first round games are scheduled to take place w/e 25th April, with another round of games for 3rd May.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Ferrybank will play Kill, Eirns Own, Roanmore, St Pauls, Ballyduff Lower, in the competition, with the top 4 teams going into the semi finals. No dates have been fixed for the opening games.
UNDER 21 FOOTBALL: Ferrybank will play St Marys in a semi final match in the Under 21 Football B grade. This game will take place at a neutral venue w/e Feb 28th, with the winners playing Portlaw/ KIlmacthomas in the final w/e 15th/16th/17th March.
UNDER 21 HURLING: The draw for the Under 21 Hurling wont take place until July/August, as the games wont take place until Oct 10th Approx. The Eastern Board will decide what teams will play in 'A or 'B.
JUNIOR HURLING: Ferrybank will play Portlaw, Eirns Own, Tramore, St Saviours, Dunhill, Ballyduff Lower, St Mollerans, Butlerstown. No dates have been fixed for the opening games, but matches will be on a Home and Away basis.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING LEAGUE: There are 12 teams scheduled to take part in the Intermediate Hurling League scheduled to start around April 13th. The draw has not yet taken place, as the Eastern Board officiers will make the draw themselves, as they are going to try and avoid teams meeting in the Championship.
