The Ferrybank Under 8 & 9 hurlers played Glenmore in two challenge games last night. With 27 players lining out between both age groups. The Under 8's soared ahead in the first half, and enjoyed great scores. However, the second half posed a more challenging test, where Glenmore came right back into it, as the team got complacent with the early lead, but Ferrybank hung in their and ran out worthy winners. The Under 9 match was a much tighter game, but Ferrybank came through in the end. Well done to all the players, and thanks to both sides for the manner in which they played the game. UNDER 16 CAMOIGE: Ferrybank Under 16 Camoige side bowed out of the County Championship at the semi final stage, when a much stronger Butlerstown/Tramore outfit won on a scoreline of 4-10 to 0-3. The loss of Zoe Power through an ankle injury didnt help matters, but the girls competed admirably for the whole hour and never gave up against the odds. JUNIOR CAMOIGE: Our Junior Camoige side secured their first Championship win of the year with a 4-4 to 2-5 win over a gallant Roanmore team. It was an evenly contested game with Iona Heffenan's goal seperating the sides at half time. Further second half goals from Niamh Ahearne, Aislinn O' Keeffe, and Iona with her second goal secured the win. The final in the group stages is away to Tallow, on Saturday night Sept 14th at 6pm, where your support will be greatly appreciated.
