UNDER 14 HURLING: Pride of place goes to our under 14 Hurlers who defeated Butlerstown in the under 14 championship play off in Tramore tonight on a scoreline of 3-9 to 1-2. They now advanced to the quater finals. This was the lads second game in 24 hours, having defeated Ballyduff Upper on Sunday in a winner takes all game, and tonight the lads new victory was essential in order to remain in the competition, and boy how well they responed to the task. Everyone tonight played their part in the win, with the defence giving nothing away, and the forwards taking their chances when they got chance. Our opponents for the Quater final have yet to be confirmed.
JUNIOR HURLING: Our Junior Hurlers recorded their second win in this years Junior Hurling championship, when their opponents St Mollerans were unable to field a team for the match. St Mollerans had only 12 players when the game was scheduled to start, resulting in them conceeding the game. Rather than going home, both sides agreed to play a challenge, with Ferrybank loaning St Mollerans three players and the challenge game commenced. This was a vital work out for the team, and it turned out to be a very good game. With four points from two games, this put the lads in a good position to qualify. Next championship game for the Junior Hurlers is on Wednesday June 15th away to Eirns Own at 7:30pm.
