UNDER 5 &6 HURLING:
Ferrybank under 5 & 6 hurling team played Passage in Passage East on Sunday.
TEAM: Fionn McGarrity, Dylan White Carton, Adam Sinnott, Conor Daly, Kyle Daly, Killan Dunphy, Deacon Purcell, Michael McLawrence, Ava O' Brien, Amelia Hartley, Emily Atkins.
UNDER 6 TEAM: Izaak Richards, Jessie Byrne, Adam Aspel, Caolan McCathmhaoil, Alex Burke Derham, Daniel Griffin, Ruaidhri McGarrity, Sean Fagan. Both Ferrybank teams excelled themselves today. With the combination of the regulars team, plus the bonus of our new players, they proved themselves teams to be reckoned with. Special thanks to all the parents and relatives who got the kids ready, and to the venue on time. The support was incredible, and the kids felt like superstars. We could not do this without this support. Thanks to Passagge east who were excellent hosts, and to the teams for a great days entertainment. It was fantastic to see the support for the kids, and we look forward to welcoming Passage to Ferrybank for the return leg. The kids had a ball and will be talking about this day in school, so to all parents, please encourage your kids to participate in Gaelic games, regarding of their lack of knowledge,as the emphasis is placed on fun. It provides kids with the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy themselves in a controlled and safe environment. So why not let your child have a go, hurleys and helmets provided at the training sessions. We would welcome any assistance from parents who would like to get involved. UNDER 14 HURLING: Not to much to be said about this game, the Eastern final that we have been looking forward for the last three weeks, and we never turned up on the day as Dunhill/Fenor ran out easy winners. Ferrybank were well beaten by a more skillful and cohesive team. Lets hope they can get this game out of their system and concentrate on their next game this Friday night against Ballyduff upper.
