JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Our Junior Footballers got their first point in this years Eastern Championship with a draw against Mt Sion in Ferrybank tonight, with the sides level on 0-8pts each. Greg Murphy opened the scoring for Ferrybank with a point, before Mt Sion levelled it up. Points from Cormac O' Driscoll and Darragh Reynolds edged Ferrybank back into the lead, but Mt Sion hit three unanswered points to put them back in front. Ferrybank had a good final ten minutes in the first half and missed a couple of good chances of goals, with the final pass going astray. Further points from Greg and Darragh put the home side into a slender one point lead at the half-way stage. It was Mt Sion who made the better start to the second half, and they put over three points on the trot to go into a two point lead. But Ferrybank gradually got more into the game and had plenty of possession and points from Darragh, and Gary Coady levelled it up. Ferrybank, in the closing stages had good opportunities to win the game, but poor shooting cost them dearly of the win they deserved. But hopefully this point registered will spring board the team onto their next game, which will be against St Pauls on Saturday June 25th in Ferrybank at 2pm. Thanks to all who came and supported the team.
