UNDER 14 HURLING:
Ferrybank’s Under 14 side got their championship up and running last Monday with a good win over a spirited Ballygunner side on a scoreline of 3-09 to 2-06. Early points from Paul and James got the lads off to a good start, but a Ballygunner goal levelled it up. The team kept playing away, and got rewarded with two goals in as many minutes from Alex to open a healthy half-time lead. Credit to Ballygunner as they came out and replied quickly with a 2nd goal, but any chance of a comeback was quickly dashed as a third goal from Paul sealed a good win on the night.
TEAM: Tyler, Matteo, Conor, Alex, Oscar, Logan, James, Caiden, Fionn, Jamie, Dean, Sam, Paul, Ben, Dion, Mikey, Jackson.

There was heartache for our U13 hurlers in their City League semi-final against Ballygunner on Sunday morning. COUNTY DUTY/ CAMOGIE NEWS:
Well done to Iona Heffernan, Niamh Ahearne, and the Waterford Senior Camogie side that defeated Dublin last Saturday afternoon in Walsh Park, thus maintaining their unbeaten run in the competition. With a guaranteed quarter final place now secured, it’s a trip to play Galway next Saturday to decide top spot with the winners qualifying directly to the semi-finals.
On the local scene, Ferrybank’s U12s have qualified for the semi-finals with wins over Tramore and Ballydurn respectively. With two teams entered, it’s a great achievement for the teams, who have trained hard during the season, and will now play on 1st July in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, well done to the U16 side who made it two from two with a solid win over Ballyduff Upper last Thursday night. Another confidence booster for the team, who are making nice progress throughout the campaign.
Our Under 8 and 10 camogie team travelled to play in the Butlerstown blitz last Sunday morning. With 17 players reporting for duty, two teams were formed on the day against Ballydurn and Gaultier. Again, another solid performance from the players, who displayed some lovely skills, moving, and passing, and no doubt the selectors were very satisfied with their displays against good opposition. Well done everyone, and thanks to all the parents who came along and supported the team on the day. Training continues for the team on Thursday at 6pm and Saturday morning at 10am.
Don't forget to support the Ferrybank Camogie club hosting a fundraiser blitz in the GAA grounds on July 6th.
