ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 16 HURLING:
No luck for the U16 hurlers last Monday night in Carrickbeg as they exited at the quarter-final stage to Clonea on a scoreline of 2-19 to 2-08. There wasn’t a lot to choose between the sides in the opening half, with Clonea leading by 2 points.
However, an early Clonea goal in the second-half put them five points clear, and from there on, Clonea took control of the game to run out worthy winners on the night. Thanks to Davy, Doxer and Paddy for looking after the team for the year, and no doubt the lads will have learned a lot playing in Division 2 during the campaign.

UNDER 8 BLITZ:
Ferrybank GAA club hosted the U8 blitz last Saturday morning, welcoming Ballygunner and Glenmore. On a lovely morning for the game, Ballygunner fielded three teams, with Ferrybank fielding two teams.
There were great games on view, with Ferrybank winning all three games. All kids put in a superb effort for their teams, and it was great to see the parents encouraging their teams during the matches. Thanks to Ballygunner and Glenmore for participating in the blitz.

JUNIOR HURLING:
Our Junior hurlers have qualified for the semi-finals of the John J Murphy sponsored competition, and we are currently awaiting confirmation of our opponents.

DÉISE DRAW:
The final Déise Draw takes place this coming Wednesday night October 11th in the Ardmore GAA grounds. . Here’s hoping we can sign off with a couple of winners on the night.

GREYHOUND NIGHT:
The annual night at the dogs takes place on Saturday November 18th at Kilcohan Park. Like every year, this night has been fantastically supported by everyone associated with the club, and once again we would encourage all players, members, supporters, parents etc. to keep this date in their diary, and enjoy a great night out at the dogs.
