ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 14 HURLING:
Its semi-final action for the Under 14 hurlers tonight ( Monday September 18th) in St. Molleran’s GAA grounds at 6:30pm, where they take on Kilrossanty. This will be a tough test for the team, as their opponents went undefeated in the league campaign. Your support will be welcomed on the night. Best of luck lads!

UNDER 16 HURLING:
No joy for the Under 16 hurlers last Monday night as they were edged out by Dungarvan by the minimum score; 2-09 to 2-08. The team have now completed their league campaign, and will have to see how other results go in the hope to securing a knockout spot.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
Our Junior Footballers exited the John J Murphy sponsored competition at the semi-final stage last Friday night in Dunhill, where they were defeated by Erin’s Own on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-12.
Missing a few key players going into the game, there was very little to separate the sides in the first-half, with Erin’s Own leading by a point at the break
In the second half, Ferrybank played a lot better, and began to take control of the game, opening up a three point lead, but with the game entering  the final quarter, Erin’s Own got in for a goal that spurred them on, and from their got on top, getting the points towards the end of the game to run out winners.

DÉISE DRAW:
We had one winner in the Déise Draw which took place last Wednesday night in the Mount Sion centre. Congratulations to Eamonn O' Neill, Marymount, who won €250 in the draw.
Many thanks to all who have purchased tickets for the draw, and the final Déise Draw of 2017 takes place on Wednesday October 11th in Ardmore. The confined club winner was Esther & Margaret Carew.
