ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K:
This coming
Sunday April 23rd at 11am in the Ferrybank GAA grounds will see the
third annual running of the Angela Burns Memorial 10k Fun Run/Walk. This event
is been kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel, Gladstone St., and this event is
open to everyone from runners, joggers, walkers, pram-pushers, families, etc.
Entry cost is
€15 for the runners (chipped) and €10 for the Walkers. Entries are now been
taken on www.totaltiming.ie/event/angela-burns-memorial-10k-2017/
and ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE on Friday April 21st at 2pm. You
can also register on the day from 9:15am in the Ferrybank GAA grounds.
There will
also be an Under 12 race commencing at 10:30am, which will consist of one lap
around the field, and entry fee is €2.
We will
require stewards/helpers for the children’s race; if any parents can lend a
hand, please let someone in the GAA club know.
Car parking on the day will be in the
Ferrybank Shopping Centre via the Bellfield estate, and we would encourage all
participants/supporters to park there.
If anyone would like to donate some food for the day… e.g. cakes, sandwiches, buns
etc., you can drop them down to the GAA grounds on Saturday April 22nd
from 2pm.
There will be evening entertainment in
Flynn’s Bar that evening with live music from 6:30pm-9pm.

the weather stays kind to us, and hopefully a great day is enjoyed by everyone.
COUNTY DUTY:
Well done to
Neil O’ Sullivan and the Waterford Under 17 hurling team that defeated Clare
in Ennis on Easter Monday in the Munster Championship semi-final. The Munster
final will be played over the next week at a Waterford venue.
Also, best of
luck to Martin Freeman (selector) and the Waterford Minor Football team that
play Clare also in Ennis this coming Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in the Munster
Championship play-off.
CAMOGIE:
Our
Intermediate Camogie team recorded an excellent win over Butlerstown last
Sunday evening in Ferrybank in the opening game of the league.
DÉISE DRAW:
Not too long
before the 2017 Déise Draw gets under way, which will take place on Wednesday
May 10th. With a new format this year, tickets will cost €15 per month,
with 6 draws taking place.
21 cash
prizes are up for grabs, with the 1st prize increasing from €10,000
to €12,500, 2nd prize increases to €3,500, while 3rd and
4th prize goes up to €1,000, 5th-8th prize
€500, 9th - 16th €250, 17th - 21st €100.
This is the
clubs biggest source of income, with 70% been returned back into the day-to-day
running of the club finances. We would encourage all players, supporters,
families to support this great event.

Footballers play away to Clan na Gael this coming Saturday April 22nd
at 12:15pm.
