Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes



COUNTY DUTY:
Well done to Iona Heffernan and Niamh Ahearne who were part of the Waterford Senior Camogie team that were played in their latest National League game at Carriganore last Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go Waterford’s way.

UNDER 5/6 HURLING:
The Under 5/6 hurlers are now back in training every Saturday morning at 10am in the club hurling alley. Hurleys and helmets are supplied. All boys and girls are most welcome to come along and learn the skills of our national game.

UNDER 14 FOOTBALL:
Our Under 14 Footballers recorded an excellent win over St. Saviour’s last Saturday afternoon, winning on a score-line of 4-10 to 0-02. The lads played some excellent football throughout the game, and were rewarded with some fine scores.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALL:
Our Under 16 Footballers are scheduled to play away to Cois Bhride on Friday March 17th at 12pm, followed by another away trip to play the Nire on Sunday March 19th at 11am.

DÉISE DRAW:
The 2017 Déise Draw will take on Wednesday May 10th. Its new formula this year with 6 draws taking place, 1 per month. Tickets will cost €15 per month, with the prize money increasing from €10,000 to €12,500 for the 1st prize. Altogether there will be 20 cash prizes up for grabs each month. The club will get 70% from the draw, so we would encourage all members of the club to support this fantastic draw.

ADULT MEMBERSHIP:
With the playing season just over a month away, membership for the coming year is now due. Fees are as follows; adults €70, students/unwaged €30. We would ask all players to pay ASAP.

ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K:
The third annual Angela Burns memorial 10K Fun Run/Walk, kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel Gladstone St., will take place on Sunday April 23rd at 11am from the GAA grounds.
Entry fee is €15 for runners (chipped) and €10 for the walkers. This event is open to everyone, from runners, joggers, walkers, pram pushers etc. We would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this great day out. INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
The opening two championship games for our Intermediate hurlers have been pencilled for Saturday April 29th v Erin’s Own, followed by Saturday May 13th v Clonea.

JUNIOR HURLING:
The Junior hurlers are scheduled to start their championship campaign on Friday May 12th v St. Molleran’s, followed by Fenor on May 19th. The lads opened up their season with a useful challenge game against Mount Sion last Saturday afternoon and it was great to see some familiar faces back in the Ferrybank jersey.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
The Junior Footballers open up their championship season on June 2nd v Mount Sion, followed by Roanmore on June 16th.
