Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers recorded a good win in their Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs sponsored clash last Sunday in Walsh Park over a spirited Mount Sion side. After a slow start, Ferrybank got to grips with the game, and points from Sam Lawless, Mark O' Brien and Graham Coady settled the team down. However, some poor frees conceded left Mount Sion back into the game, but towards the end of the half further points from Shane O’ Sullivan, Andrew Heffernan and Robbie Carew ensured a 0-11 to 0-09 lead at the break. An early goal from Oisín MacCathmaoil in the second-half extended the lead, but Mount Sion refused to go away and scored a goal of their own from a 20 metre free.
Ferrybank held their nerve a further points from Shane, Mark and Oisín closed the game out on a scoreline of 1-18 to 1-12.
A good win for the team, but too many frees conceded will be a concern, and they must turn their attention to the next game against Erin’s Own on Friday June 10th.
