Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

Our Intermediate hurlers are scheduled to play Dunhill in their opening game of this year’s championship in Walsh Park on Sunday 8th May at 3:45pm. However, with the County side in replay action against Clare on the same day, more than likely it will be switched to an alternative date.

Our Junior Hurlers also swing into action on Friday 6th May with a home game against St. Mollerans at 7pm. Let’s hope the lads can get off to a winning start. Best of luck to Doyler’s and his team.

We had one winner in last Fridays night Déise draw which took place in Gaultier, congratulations to Catherine Howard who won €100 in the draw ensuring that we have winners in the opening two draws.

The Under 11 hurlers recorded their second win in the City League last Friday night, with a four point win over St. Marys in Bunmahon. It was a well-earned win for the team, well done lads. Special mention to the Under 9 &10 who assisted with this result. Thanks also to the parents, who kindly offered lifts and support.

Our Under 16 Camogie team recorded a great win over a spirited Cappoquin side last Monday night winning on a scoreline of 5-01 to 1-01. A good work ethic was key to this win, with Lauren Ryan, Zara White, Helen Connolly, Amber Cuddihy, Rebecca Savage contributing to the scoreline.

The Ferrybank Under 12 hurling team took part in their third City League match of 2016 against our close Kilkenny neighbours Slieverue.
Ferrybank tore ahead and secured an early lead with 3 goals in quick succession and this relentless onslaught continued unabated throughout the first-half giving the Village a great lead.
The second half-continue in the same vein with tremendous pressure being applied to the Slieverue defences. The Kilkenny team managed to claw back 3 points but the game was over.
Ferrybank 7-04  Slieverue 0-03.
