Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

JUVENILE NURSERY:
This coming Saturday, March 5th, from 10am-11am sees the launch of the nursery for boys and girls aged between 5 and 6yrs old. The club nursery programme teaches children the basic movements and skills required to play Gaelic Games. This includes agility, balance, co-ordination, running, jumping, catching, throwing, kicking and striking. This is a great way to introduce new players and parents to the club. All equipment hurleys & helmets will be supplied. So we look forward to seen all the kids on Saturday morning.

MEMBERSHIP:
2016 club membership is now due. Adult membership is €70, or €120 if you want to include a Déise Draw subscription. Student/Unwaged €30. Juvenile membership is €20, with €10 for any additional sibling.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:
It’s that time of the year again, where I’m sure your house could do with a spring clean. So if you have any unwanted clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, soft toys etc., or any old mobile phones or laptops (please keep mobile phones and laptops separate from clothing items), you can drop them down to the GAA grounds on Saturday mornings from 10am to 2pm. The closing date will be Saturday April 2nd.

UNDER 8 HURLING:
Training for the Under 8s is on every Saturday morning at 11:15am in the All-Weather Hurling Alley, and everyone is most welcome to come all.

FERRYBANK GAA DÉISE DRAW:
The 2016 Ferrybank GAA Déise Draw will take place on Friday March 25th, and will continue monthly for nine months. Tickets cost €10 per month, with 70% of all money collected goes directly to Ferrybank GAA club. Prize money has increased from last year, with a fantastic 29 cash prizes on offer with first prize be a whopping €10,000, 2nd prize €2,000, 3rd prize €1,000, working all the way down to €100. The club will be hoping for continued support from our membership, and hopefully we can encourage a few more to purchase a Déise Draw ticket for the coming year and keep Gaelic games alive in Ferrybank. For any further information on the Ferrybank draw, and if you want to purchase a Deise draw ticket, please contact Tony Power 086 416 9215, Pat O' Meara 087 210 8890, or Nicky Heffernan 087 672 4212.

ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K:
The annual Angela Burns Memorial 10K Fun Run/Walk will take place on Sunday April 24th at 11am starting from the Ferrybank GAA grounds. This is a hugely popular event, and with the evenings getting a brighter, now is the time to get out and about to prepare yourself for the day. Ferrybank Road Runners meet in the GAA field every Tuesday & Thursday night at 7pm, and everyone is most welcome to come along and enjoy a leisurely run out.
