GREYHOUND NIGHT:
Our annual night at the dogs took place last Saturday night
in Kilcohan Park, and it turned out to be a fantastic success. A huge crowd
from the village turned up on the night and enjoyed the thrills and spills.
A feature on the evening was the presentation of the U11 City
League Hurling medals and certificates by Waterford inter-county star Austin
Gleeson. Ferrybank GAA club are extremely grateful to Austin for coming along
and giving his time up his time, in which the kids were delighted to see Austin
and many photographs were taken.
As we all know, a huge thanks goes to the organising committee,
to the people who sponsored a race on the night, our advertisers, people who
nominate a dog on the night, the people who purchases tickets, Duggan coaches
who transported the people over and back on the night and finally to the staff
of Kilcohan Park for their assistance for the night. The main gate prize on the
night was won by Maresa Cahill, with other prize winners were Mark Power, Edel Power,
Marguerite Haley and Ger Crowley. Congrats to all, and hopefully it will be
done again in 2016.
