Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes




COUNTY DUTY:
Best of luck to Grainne Heffernan and the Waterford U16 Camogie team who are playing Dublin in the All Ireland U16B Camogie Championship Final on Sunday, August 30th at 1:45pm in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh.
Well done to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Intermediate Camogie team who defeated Meath in the All Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship semi – final last Saturday in Nowlan Park with a scoreline of 3-10 to 3-09. The girls now go on and play Kildare in the final on September 13th in Croke Park.

INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
It’s quarter-final action next Saturday August 29th in Kill at 2:30pm for the Intermediate hurlers as they play Clonea. No doubt a stiff test awaits the team, and let’s hopes they can put in a good performance on the day. Your support will be welcomed on the day. Best of luck lads.

UNDER 12 FOOTBALL:
Our Under 12 Footballers have got off to a perfect start in the City League recording two wins from two. First up was a trip to Bunmahon to play St. Marys, and despite been short a couple of players, the team put up a great performance running out to 5-02 to 0-07 winners.
Next up was a home match against Mount Sion, and right from the start, Ferrybank were on top in all areas, and ran out good winners on the night.

DÉISE DRAW:
The next Déise draw will take place this coming Friday night August 28th in Kilgobnet; best of luck to all who have purchased tickets for the draw. Congratulations to Brian Dunphy who was the confined winner for July.

MINOR CAMOIGE:
The Minor Camogie team are back in action this coming Tuesday night August 25th with a trip to play Dungarvan at 7pm.

JUNIOR, MINOR & U16 CAMOGIE:
Training this week is on Monday at 7pm to 8:30pm in the Ferrybank pitch.

U13 CAMOGIE:
This year our U13 team has amalgamated with Butlerstown camogie club. Best of luck to this Ferrybank/Butlerstown team who are due to play De La Salle in Butlerstown on Tuesday, August 25th at 7:30pm in the first round of the U13 League.

U12, U10 & U8 CAMOGIE:
Training for U12, U10 & U8 girls continues every Saturday morning at 10am to 11am in the Ferrybank Pitch. All newcomers are more than welcome. Hurleys and helmets can be provided on the day.

U7 & NURSERY GROUP:
Training for U7 and nursery girls and boys continues every Saturday morning at 10am to 11am in the Ferrybank pitch. All newcomers are more than welcome. Hurley’s and helmets can be provided on the day.

CLOTHES COLLECTION:
Due to the success of our last clothes collection, Ferrybank GAA is embarking on another one. If you have any unwanted textiles and mobile phones - Recycle and Support Ferrybank GAA. Please drop to the club Saturdays between 10am - 11am or at any training sessions. Any clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, soft toys, mobiles phones keep in separate bag. The final collection date is in mid-October but we will be collecting up until then.


GUESS THE SCORE:
Congratulations to Caroline Bannon who was the lucky winner of our ‘Guess the Score’ competition for the recent All Ireland senior hurling semi-final between Waterford and Kilkenny. Many thanks to all who supported the competition.
