JUNIOR
FOOTBALL:
Our Junior
Footballers recorded their second victory in the John J Murphy sponsored
competition with a hard fought win over Portlaw in Ferrybank last Friday night.
Portlaw had the better of the first-half, with Trotter in goal pulling off a
couple of crucial saves in the opening half, but a point from Davy Atkins and a
fine goal from John Ahern ensured the sides went in level at the break.
Ferrybank
began to get a grip on the game in the second-half and points from Keith Power,
MJ Sutton (2), Robbie Carew and Kevin Hurley put us into the lead and they held
out to record a good win.
Two wins
from two, and the lads make the trip to Kill next Friday night April 10th
at 6:45pm. Your support will be appreciated on the night.
UNDER 14
FOOTBALL:
Our Under 14
Footballers were narrowly defeated by Rathgormack in Ferrybank last Saturday
evening on a scoreline of 4-05 to 3-05. This was a great game, and the lads can
count themselves unlucky not to come away with something, as they dominated the
closing minutes, but couldn’t get the equaliser against a good Rathgormack
side.
MINOR
FOOTBALL:
Our Minor
Footballers had to concede their latest championship game against Clan Na Gaeil
(Dunhill/Fenor/Butlerstown) last Sunday morning. With a small enough panel,
there was a few players unavailable, and it made it tough to field a team against
a much stronger selection.
