GAA NOTES

JUNIOR CAMOIGE: Hard luck to the Junior Camoige team who were defeated in a thrilling game on a scoreline of 5-11 to 5-9 against Roanmore in Cleaboy last Saturday evening. It looked like Ferrybank would win the game, leading by a point entering the closing moments, but a late Roanmore goal gave the city Girls the win. Ferrybank lead by 3-3 to 2-5 at the break, but throughout the second half, both sides went at it with some excellent scores on offer, but it was heartbreak for the Girls at the final whistle. This is a young team, and they couldnt be faulted for their effort on the night, and no doubt will be back next year much stronger and more determined. To Roanmore we congratulate them on their win. TEAM: Amy Boden, Aisling Heffernan, Aislinn Oates, Siobhan Heffernan, Zoe Delahunty, Kim Delahunty, Iona Heffernan, Orla O' Neill, Lydia Grant, Niamh Ahearne, Helen McEvoy, Claire Smith-Baldwin, Debbie Boden, Elsie Roche, Roisin Oates.

COUNTY DUTY: Congratulations to Neil Sullivan who was on the Waterford Tony Forristal/ Sonny Walsh Under 14 hurling panel last weekend.

INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Its a big week for the Intermediate Hurling team as they play Dunhill in the Quarter finals on Saturday Sept 6th at 2:45pm in Walsh Park. Please come along and support the team on the day.

JUNIOR HURLING: The Junior Hurlers are also in Quarter final action this coming Friday August 5th in Poleberry at 6:30pm against Butlerstown. A close game is on the cards, and once again your support will be welcomed on the night.

MINOR HURLING: Ferrybanks Minor Hurlers conceeded their latest game to Clonea which was scheduled to take place on Sunday morning.

UNDER 11 FOOTBALL: Ferrybanks Under 11 Footballers played away to Portlaw last Friday night in round 5 of the city league. Missing a few players through injury, the lads were up against it from the start, but they battled away, and found themselves going in a half time all square. Ferrybank started the second half well enough, but with some erratic shooting they failed to capitalised on their chances, of which the hosts took full advantage, and they hit the net twice, and also sent over some points, leaving Ferrybank with a mountain to climb. They battled on bravely, and they were unlucky to see their chances come of the woodwork, and the Portlaw goalkeeper was in excellent form, pulling off some good saves near the end, resulting in Portlaw running out winners on the night. Next up for the Footballers is a trip to Butlerstown on Sept 12th.

DEISE DRAW: We had no luck in the August Deise draw which took place last Friday night in St Mollerans. Many thanks to all who purchased tickets for the draw. Next draw is Sept 26th in Abbeyside/ Ballinacourty.
