UNDER 6,7, 8, HURLING: Our Underage hurlers travelled to Passage East to play the home side in some friendly matches yesterday. Although a day of rest, Ferrybanks Under 8 side opened proceedings, and were charged up for the match, and launched unrelentess attacks on the Passage goal. Passage succumbed to the pressure, and this proved another galant day for the team. Thue Under 7 match was a much closer affair, but the lads battled hard to seize control of the game. Missing half of the Under 6 team, Ferrybank faced an uphill battle against Passage. This was the first game for many of the players, and it was a titanic struggle, against a superior side. However the kids had a ball and enjoyed the day out. Thanks to Passage who were excellent hosts, and to the teams for a great days enterainment, and to all the parents for the support. GREYHOUND NIGHT: With just under 2 weeks to go for Ferrybank Gaa club night at the dogs which takes place on Saturday November 24th, Tickets are still available from Declan Howard (087-9393818), Conor Ahearne (086-2968463) at €10 each, which includes admission. We would encourage all Players, Supporters, Parents, Members to support this night out. The main gate prize on the night is a weekend for two in the Castleross Hotel Killarney, including 2 nights B+B and 1 evening meal. There will also be numerous gate prizes on the night. If you would like to nominate a dog on the night, nominations costs €10 and can be purchased from Shane Ahearne (086-2356300), and if your dog is successful on the night, you will win €30. There will be a free Bus operating to and from the dog track on the night. So all in all a good night is assured, so bring along your friends, and enjoy the night out.
