INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our Intermediate hurlers play Clonea in the quarter finals of the Eastern Championship on Friday August 31st at 6:30pm in Kill. No doubt Clonea will go into the game as Favourites, but the lads have trained hard for this game, and will give it their all on the night. So please come along and support the team on the night.
JUNIOR HURLING: The Junior Hurling match against Butlerstown scheduled to take place last Friday night was postponed due to the weather and will now take place on Tuesday 4th September in Ferrybank at 6:15pm.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Our Junior Footballers play Eirns Own on Friday 7th September in Cleaboy at 6:15pm in a play off. The winners of this match will go on to the quarter finals of the Championship to play Butlerstown.
MINOR HURLING: Our Minor Hurlers will play Portlaw on Wednesday August 29th in Ferrybank at 6:30pm. Lets hope the team can bounce back to winning ways, following defeats in their last two games. Please come along and support the team.
UNDER 16 HURLING: Our Under 16 team travelled to Clonea yesterday and recorded an excellent win on a scoreline of 2-14 to 3-10. Short a few regulars, the lads put in a huge effort, and their excellent workrate ensured a fine win. This win has put the team back into contention for under 16 honours, and their next game is scheduled for Sept 7th home to Clashmore.
CAMOIGE: Our under 16 Camoige side opened their Championship campagin with a win over a gallant Roanmore side last Tuesday night. Good scores from Aislinn O' Keeffe, Niamh Ahearne, Sinead Russell set the team up for victory. TEAM: Grainne Heffernan, Aoife Byrne, Aisling Heffernan, Stacey Roche, Iona Heffernan, Lydia Grant, Niamh Ahearne, Zoe Power, Deirdre Heffernan, Aislinn O' Keeffe, Katie Bohill, Sinead Russell, Chloe Hartley, Sarah Meaney, Jane Myers, Bronagh Power, Emily Power. The Girls play their second game this Tuesday night August 28th home to Dungarvan at 7pm, so please come along and support the team.
UNDER 6 & 8 HURLING: The under 6 & 8 hurlers played in the Butlerstown Blitz yesterday. The under 6 hurlers played 4 games, two of which the lads dominated. It was great to see our under 6 (many of them 4 & 5) participating in this blitz. It was obvious for all to see that their hurling training is paying great dividends, but most of all, the lads are enjoying it. TEAM: Caolan MacCathmhaoil, Malachy Carter, Joe Carter, Conor Haley, Kyle Daly, Ryan Hughes, Jacob Richards, Michael MacLaurence, Fionn McGarrity, Michael Karankov, Amelia Hartley. Our Under 8 Hurlers played a total of eight games, with the teams split into two teams. Overall this proved another favourable day for the parish, as the teams did us proud against fierce opponents against Butlerstown, Piltown, De La Salle, Slieverue, Piltown. Ballyduff, Na Gaeil. Thanks to all the parents who came along and supported the team, and to the parents who got the kids to the venue on time. Thanks to Butlerstown for been excellent hosts.
