COUNTY DUTY: Best of luck to John (Doxer) Burns as Manager, his Selectors, and players including our own Mark Russell who play Clare this Wednesday night May 2nd in Ennis, in the Munster Minor Hurling Championship. No doubt Doxer will have the team fully prepared for the big game, and lets hope they can return with a win. Best of luck lads.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Our Junior Footballers will play Eirns Own in the Junior Football Championship this Thursday night may 3rd in Ferrybank at 7pm. Please come along and support the lads.
JUNIOR HURLING: Our Junior Hurlers are in Championship action this Saturday night May 5th in Ferrybank at 7pm where Eirns Own once again provide the opposition. The lads warmed up for the match with a challenge game against Carrigeen last Saturday night, and came away with a good win. Once again, your support will be crucial to the team, so please come along and support the lads.
DEISE DRAW: We had no winners in the Deise Draw last Friday night which took place in Gaultir Gaa Grounds. Many thanks to all who purchased tickets on the night, and please note tickets are still available for the remaining draws, May- Nov which costs £10 euro's per month. There are some fantastic cash prizes on offer. Tickets can be purchased from Nicky Heffernan 087-6724212. Next draw takes place in Clashmore on Friday May 25th.
UNDER 16 FOOTBALL: Our Under 16 Footballers conceeded their match against Brickys Rangers last Saturday. The team have now completed their matches, and unfortunately didnt make it through to the knockouts.
UNDER 5,6,7 HURLING: Ferrybank hosted a series of games in the Under 5,6,7, age groups against worthy opponents Mt Sion. The Ferrybank under '5 played out of their skins today, and soared ahead early on. The under 6 & 7 games were hotly contested battles, but Ferrybank did us proud. Another great day for the club, which the children and parents can be proud of. Well done lads, and thanks to Mt Sion for the manner in which they played there games, and to the kids for a great days entertainment. The kids had a ball and will be talking about this day in school, so to all parents, please encourage your kids ( from four years onwards) to participate, regardless of their lack of hurling experience, as the emphasis is placed on fun. It provides kids with the opportunity to meet new friends, and enjoy themselves in a controlled and safe manner. So why not let your child have a go at Gaelic Games. Hurleys and helmets provided at the training sessions. We would welcome any assistance from parents, who would like to get involved. This is a great way to encourage your children to excercise. No experience required. For further information on Under 5/6 hurling, please contact Mark Drennan 086-3752656. Under 7/8 Conor McGarrity, Brian Richards 086-3589859.
