INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our Intermediate hurlers travelled to Aglish last night to play Geraldines in a challenge game, and following a good game of hurling, the lads ran out 2-9 to 1-8 winners. Ferrybank got of to a good start with Damien Walsh scoring a goal after 5 minutes, following some good build up play. Points from Sam Lawless and Eric Corcoran, Eoin O' Neill extended the lead, before Geraldines opened their account with two points from placed balls. A second goal for Ferrybank arrived midway through the half, when Cormac Heffernan found himself in acres of space and drilled the ball to the back of the net. Another placed ball from the Geraldines reduced the gap, but moments later, the homeside got a goal when some slack defending, allowed the Geraldines forward to put the ball into a empty net. Sam lawless got his 2nd score of the half to leave it 2-4 to 1-3 at the break. With a lot of changes made by the selectors for the second half, and players been tryed out in different positions, Geraldines came a lot more into the game, good scores from Chris Hoban and Eoin O' Neill always kept Ferrybank ahead, and the Ferrybank defence kept firm when the home side through everything at them, including a penelty miss that was saved by Sean Flynn.
