BALLYGUNNER BLITZ: Ferrybank hurlers played four games yesterday in Ballygunners indoor hall. TEAM: Izaak Richards, Jessie byrne, Alex Burke-Derham, Sean Fagan, Shane Purcell, Joe Carter, Malachy Carter, Conor Daly, Kyle Daly,Caolan MacCathmhaoil, Michael McLawrence. The lads provided a feast of top class hurling today. The marking was second to none, and all settled into their positions well. The first game against De La Salle was a tough gig, but our lads got a well deserved draw. The second game also against DLS proved a far easier challenge and Ferrybank dominated the proceedings. St Saviours was the third game, and proved to be fierce opponents, with many tough tackles, but Ferrybank retaliated by sinking the ball into the back of the net.The last game was against Passage, with Alex in top form on goal, supported by the defence of Jessie, Sean, Shane, not many a sliothar got past them. Midfield consisting of Izaak, Joe, Kyle, Michael dominated the centre, and the forwards of Caolan, Malachy, Conor were like spitfores in the Passage goalmouth. The sideline support was excellent, so a big thanks to all the Parents, Grandparents, Relatives as you really spurned the team on. Next Saturday Feb 11th under 7 Football in Ballygunner will commence at 10am. All players are requested to meet at Ferrybank pitch at 9am sharp.
