Successes for the year 2010.
Some of the success stories for last year are indeed juvenile successes, but I believe that everyone in the club should hear about all aspects of the club, thats why I have included them in this docoument.
1.Finishing off the all weather section around the field and clearing the ditch on the convent side of the field.
2.The setting up of Face book and Twitter, culminating in an average of 54,000 hits per month on our web site. And almost half a million hits this year, thanks to Declan Howard Leonard Skelton and Hugh O Neill.
3. Allowing the parish to link into our mains system showing our social conscience side.
4. Agreeing a structure for training and games with the soccer club, and without naming them , as they know exactly who they are, I will, if elected again, continue to enjoy this agreement and system, so thanks to all concerned in the soccer club.
5. All FUNDRAISING EVENTS , 2, GUESS THE SCORE, AND THE DRAW FOR ALL IRELAND TICKETS AND WEEKEND AWAY. Golf classic, Dog night , The flag weekend.
6. SENDING 600 FLYERS INTO THE SCHOOLS REGARDING RECRUITMENT.
7. Every house in the parish getting letters / canvassed and or spoken to regarding recruitment and our open day.
8. The actual opening day. The Best success of the year.
9. Linking into the main sewage, as a way of self sufficiency into the future, and stopping the smells of the septic tank. Thanks mainly to Peaders Summer Camp.
10. Filling in the area behind the goal to make sure the ball comes back, thanks to Mick Sutton and Foxy Carew.
11. The general condition of both pitches due to the care and hard work of Sean Burtchill
Ian Maley . and Jim Flynn.
12.Working with fantastic officers and a fantastic committee, and all sub committees including Pat Lawless, Donica Larkin, Andy Ryan [golf] Liam Walsh [Dog night]
13. At last we now have our own headed paper with our official design and unique crest which is down to Dom O brien.
14.The excellent and unique relationship we enjoy with the 3 schools and the excellent relationship we have with the teachers in these schools.
15.The continued support of all of our supporters, sponsors, be they field fixers, desie draw members, members, players and managers, and back up staff. or whatever shape or form they take, long may this support last and we thank you sincerely.
As you can see, we as a club are moving forward on all fronts and it is my intention, if re elected, to continue this momentum into the future, but we can only do this by consolidating our current support base and broadening our catchment area and our supporters, on every front.
If I have omitted anyone, or any event please forgive me.
Finally, To anyone who have lost loved ones since the last A.G.M. , as a club we express our deepest sympathies.
Soon we go as a club into 2011.
With a good year behind us and hopefully a better year on the playing field ahead of us, as this is the very essence of our existence.
