U13 Hurling
St Mollerans 1-4 Ferrybank 1-13
We played our first game CountryStyle Straith Na Cathrach last Monday 23rd against a very young St Mollearns and were made work hard for our win despite the score line suggesting otherwise. We had big performances from our Goalkeeper David English and backs Alex Grant, Tiernan Morrissey, Daryl Griffin, Jack Wicks and Paul Carew who kept us in the game when needed also in our half Forwards Joho Brown, Shane Meagher and Cameron Wells played exceptionally well along with David Atkins and Issac power in Midfield. Thanks to St Mollerans for there hospitality also a big thank you to all the parents who helped out with the driving.
Dunhill/Fenor 5-5 Ferrybank 5-8
Our U13’s played Dunhill/Fenor in their 2nd game of CountryStyle Straith Na Cathrach last Wednesday night 25th and just came out on top in an unbelievable close and exciting game. Losing 3-2 to 0-2 at half time Ferrybank who looked dead and buried raised their game considerably in the second half to scrape the win with a players like Shane Meagher, Daryl Griffin, Tiernan Morrissey, and David English worthy of a man of the match award but that honor goes to David Atkins for his work rate in the middle of the field trying to break down every attack Dunhill/Fenor put together and unselfishly setting up his team-mates for scores. Our forwards played well scoring 5 goals with Isaac Power’s the most memorable also the backs with Alex Grant and Jack Wicks putting in Trojan work when needed deserve a mention. Spare a thought for Dunhill/Fenor who were very unlucky to not come away with at least a draw scoring 5-5 normally enough to win most games comfortably. Next game is against Portlaw at Home on Monday 30th.
