Croke Park Tour

The players started the day departing at 9.30 to Na Fianna GAA Club arriving at
12.30pm for a packed lunch and a tap around with Hurleys and Gaelic Footballs to loosen out the cobwebs. The players used the outside area for lunch and then travelled on to Croke Park Museum for a tour of this historic stadium. We started with an audio visual video of Croke Park on both Final Days which was short and kept the interest of all the children including the big ones.

The tour involved both historical aspects of the GAA History and more contempory winners in both Hurling/Football and Camoige. The second part of the tour involved an interactive area which was enjoyed by the children and a little bit too much by some of the coaches trying to get the fastest slioatar shot measurement for speed. For the record the fastest child was Luke Butler. We then proceeded onto a tour of the grounds with our tour guide Philip and the award stand area and the Changing rooms to be used by the Deise next week including the tense moment of running out the tunnel with special sound system working. We also viewed the upper areas of Croke Park from the press area which is an excellent viewing point.

Huling & Gaelic Football Games versus Na Fianna Gaa

The teams were split and both played Gaelic Football first against Na Fianna GAA winning both with great effort and then taking a break followed by two Hurling Games which were both won in a tense manner just edging out Na Fianna in both Games.
