GAA NOTES

MINOR HURLING: Our Minor Hurlers travelled to Ballinameela last Wednesday night to play St Olivers in round 2 of this years championship and were defeated on a scoreline of 2-18 to 1-13. Despite this defeat Ferrybank hurled well for long periods of this game, despite been understrength(in which a few of the the players were 15 years old)for this game missing a number of regular starters, they led by a point a half time.In the second half two soft goals gave St Olivers the edge, and they didnt look back from there running out clear winners in the end. Greg Murphy scored the Ferrybank goal and nine excellent points from Sam Lawless(eight from play) contributed to the village cause, others to play well were Seamus Burchill, and Damien Ahearne. Our next game is this Wednesday night August 4th home to Passage at 7pm. Please come along and support the lads.
