County Champions

Today we won the under 14 hurling County Championship by beating Fourmilewater in a great game of hurling.
Fourmilewater got the better of the early exchanges, and to their credit piled on the pressure, using the strong wind to its full advantage. We kept within touching distance of our opponents through sheer doggedness, but at half time it was no suprise that we were getting beat by 5 points.
At half time the team received an inspirational team talk from the 3 managers Foxy Carew, Mick and Paul Sutton.
However it was Fourmilewater who started the stronger and put us under the cosh for the first 10 minutes of the second half.
After taken a little time to settle, when we did, we just took the game by the scruff, and after scoring a goal from a free, we simply took over the game.
To the lads we say well done, your efforts paid off with a county medal.
To Fourmilewater we would like to thank them for a good sporting game, and indeed this type of hurling is how the game should be played.
Final score; Ferrybank 2-4 Fourmilewater 1-5
Go on the Village, and well done lads.
