Minor Hurlers

Pride of place this week goes to our Minor Hurlers who retained the Division 3 title with a battling performance against a game St Olivers side by 2-15 to
2-8 in Cleaboy last Thursday night. This is the first time in the Club’s history that we have won back to back titles after waiting 72 years last year to win it. It would be unfair to single any player out for special praise for last Thursday’s victory as every member of the panel have played there part during the championship.Captain Shane Sullivan was presented with the cup amid joyous scenes in Cleaboy. As for the game it was a hard fought victory as they hard to dig deep during the game as St Olivers threw everything at us but the lads stood up and took the scores when required.A special word to the management team of Pat Lawless, Marty Freeman, Gary Coady, Paul Martin who have worked hard with this team for the past two seasons and now they have been rewarded for there effort, espically as they had to wait 7 weeks for this game and had to keep them motivated for this game. Take a bow lads. A special word of thanks to all the Supporters who came to watch and support the team, the players and management were delighted to see a large turnout.
