Our Squad for this Tournament was weakened by some late call off’s and illness but our younger player’s used this opportunity to gain some experience of competitive Hurling. Our games against Ballygunner 1 & 2 /Mount Sion 1& 2 teams were played at a fast pace with a brave effort from all the team winning all matches. Even-do we had a month’s break since December 08, the Ferrybank U-7 team played brilliantly on the day never resting and always competing with some Hurling homework having been done during the break. All participants received a medal for their efforts and I would like to thank the organisers and young referees on the day.
I would like to think that the Late Jim Walsh was with us on this cold but sunny day with his words of advice as he used to do when I started coaching with the club on Saturday mornings at our club grounds when that unmistakeably gravelly voice would mention to me about some kids holding their Hurley etc and his presence will be missed and I am sure that all our parents participating and mentors would wish his family the best.
We would like to thank all the parents for their help and support in getting the kids to the venue.

Training in our modern Hurling Alley resumes on Wednesday 11th February 6.30-7.30pm and every Saturday 10.00-11.00am At the Ferrybank GAA grounds across from the post office. All 5/6/7 boy’s welcome (Girl’s Camoige Saturday 11-12am) and beginners are welcome with Helmets and Hurley’s supplied. Come along and have a try you might be the next John Mullane or Henry Shefflin. Parents participation is welcomed. Contact John Burn’s 087-8717039 or Fintan Byrne 087-2364576 for any inqueries.
