MINOR HURLING
The Ferrybank minor hurling team booked their place in this years county final following a hard fought victory over St. Saviours in Walsh Park last night.The first half was evenly matched with each team conceding soft goals with the pick of the points coming from Cormac O'Driscoll. At half time the teams were even steven at 1-5 apiece.With some stern words at half time the boys came out fighting and started in great fashion with a flurry points.Then midway through the half Sam Lawless latched on to long ball from the defence and turned his man and blasted the ball to net.This was the lanchpad which saw Ferrybank take controll of the game with points from Sam Lawless,Cormac O'Drisscoll and a super point from Greg Murphy.With saviours putting lots of pressure on the Ferrybank defence stood tall and held their own.A goal from saviours near the mearly put repectabilty on the scoreboard. Final score Ferrybank 2-12 St.Saviours 2-6.Best for Ferrybank on the night were Tommy Carew,Damien Aherne,Kevin Hurley,Cormac O'Drisscoll,Eric Corcoran,and Sam Lawless. So now on the county final on 4th of september in Fraher Field Dungarvan where the support of the whole club would be greatly welcomed.
